Welded wire mesh in all its simplicity consists of a net with metal wires that is spot welded in all joints. It gives the net high strength and a high degree of accuracy in mesh size and shape.

This type of mesh is available in many combinations of aperture and wire thickness. The mesh is either in rolls of 25-30 meters in length with a width of e.g. 1.0 meters or in panels of e.g. 1.0 x 2.0 meters (width x length). The thickness of the wire is decisive for whether the mesh can be rolled or not. In general welded wire mesh can be supplied with wire thicknesses from 0.5 mm up to 12.0 mm.

The aperture is usually square – but rectangular aperture can be custom-made. Apertures range from 4.0 mm and upwards.

• Mesh cut to size to fit exactly in the machine or device that it's supposed to.
• Mesh on a frame with flange/clasps for mounting purposes.
• Rolled to a cylinder with a top and flange (Filter element)
• Multi-layer filter unit where the welded wire mesh can act as a support for a finer wire mesh (Ensures that the finer wire mesh won’t collapse during use)
• Baskets with handles.

Welded wire mesh is called several other things. It can be called spot welded mesh, Form F grid, rionet, etc.
