Wedge wires and filters

Wedge wire filters is a product developed for efficient filtration. The unique construction with triangular profiles mounted on support profiles, gives the product some additional advantages over traditional filters, including:

  • Slits along the entire surface allow liquid to pass quickly and efficiently
  • Slot opening adapted to the minimum size of the solid elements means no unwanted elements in the filtered liquid
  • High strength compared to the fine filtration allows filtration with higher pressure or mechanical stress without damage.
  • Construction adapted to the task
  • Economical solution even at 1 piece

Our slotted filters are typically used in industry in production processes where function, economy and efficiency are crucial.
Wedge wire products are also a vital component in larger filtration systems, such as bow screens or drum screens.

Wedge wire filters are used to filter liquids from solid fractions through slotted openings designed to provide the desired effect and an optimized construction.

Filtration with Wedge wire filters are used in:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • The food industry
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Textiles / laundries
  • Mining and minerals
  • Recycling and wastewater management
  • Drinking water

Wedge wire screens are used in:

All our Wedge Wire filters are produced to order, so they are adapted to the task and need.

Wedge wire filters are constructed with profiles across the filter surface, with a slot opening corresponding to the filter requirement down to 10 microns (0.01 mm), and support profiles across the profiles to hold the structure together.

Wedge wire products can be produced as flat panels up to 3,500 x 4,000 mm or as a cylinder with a diameter from Ø21 mm up to Ø914 mm and length up to 7,200 mm.

The normal delivery time is 3-12 weeks depending on the type, material, and design.

Filter profiles and support profiles can be designed to provide extra strength if used for a heavy-duty purpose.

Profiles can be tilted up to 10 degrees to increase the amount of liquid filtered in a one-way flow.

Filter direction of cylinder and arched sieves (FITO or FOTI):

Wedge wire products which are either bent, or rolled into a cylinder will have a filtration direction.

Either it will be FITO (from-inside-to-outside), where the unfiltered pulp is running on the inside of the cylinder or screen and filtered to the outside.

Or it would be FOTI (from-outside-to-inside), where the pulp is on the outside of the cylinder, and only the liquid runs through to the inside.

The profiles will always face with the widest surface against the direction the pulp is coming from to ensure maximum filtration.

The pictures at the top of the page shows the various constructions.
